THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF THIS SUMMER RESIDENCE LOCATED IN PLAYA PORTILLO (LAS TERRENAS) IS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PROJECTS OF DANTE LUNA.
The housing of 850 square meters of construction has a high-end finish.
The design is based on the integrity of the materials: natural cast concrete, unfinished travertine stone floor, coral stone and aluminum with wood finish, among others.
The house is composed of two blocks that intersect, one of them is two levels. The first level houses the social areas, which are characterized by a great integration to the exterior with large galleries, and the service areas and guest bedrooms.
On the second level are the bedrooms and the family room that are connected by an open corridor as a balcony, as in traditional Antillean architecture.
The effort put into this project reflects the architect Luna’s belief that, as a designer, designing a home is something sacred: “The client gives you his trust, his life for an indefinite period, sometimes years of life on a mortgage. It probably represents the biggest investment of life, so it requires an honest and coherent response. Hence, I focus on proposing to the client what I understand is the right thing to do, it is part of professional ethics, the only option is to do it well ”
